With very limited space available, Wayne Hill and Tracy Taylor turned to The Style Zone to help them create the fully functioning and practical salon within the stylish Cadbury House Hotel health spa.
The tightness of the space meant The Salon – broadst.hair wouldn’t be able to use standardised mirror units and shelving, so The Style Zone designed and built mirror units and cabinetry that fitted the available space, and were in-keeping with the salon’s corporate image. Being bespoke, each individual piece could be designed to fit exactly and incorporate various practical uses. The compact reception and dispensary corner is a prime example where practicality and esthetics are blended perfectly.
Being within the spa, the salon was able to utlise the lighting and air conditioning already in place allowing for more of the budget to be invested in high quality furniture to match the affluent surroundings. For Wayne the furniture was a key element in the project. “In such a tight space,” he says, “you really need to have everything custom-made. Otherwise you end up shoe-horning standard sized units in, which looks awful.”
The Salon at Cadbury House may be small, but it doesn’t feel cramped and functions perfectly. Proving again that if you involve the best people in the project, you will get the best result.
